ShareMyToolbox review

A tool and equipment tracking app for field crews, so an owner can see which tech has which drill, move tools between trucks and job sites with a phone scan, and send an audit to a field guy to confirm he still has what the system says he has.

The base fee buys one admin login, so a shop with five field guys pays $100 plus one block of five at $50, or $150/mo. View-only users and virtual users for vans, trailers and the repair shop are unlimited and cost nothing. Tools and locations are unlimited on the paid plan. Subscriptions are non-refundable, though you can cancel any time to stop future billing. Annual billing is offered but no annual price is published.

What ShareMyToolbox does

Pricing & terms
Starts atThe real monthly cost to get in the door, before add-ons.
$100/mo for the first admin, plus $10 per user sold in blocks of 5
How pricing worksFlat tiers, per user, or per job. This decides how fast the bill grows as you add people.
Flat base fee plus paid seats. View-only and virtual users cost nothing
Free trial or planCan you try it with your own jobs before paying?
14 days, no card. There is also a free plan capped at 100 tools
ContractMonth-to-month vs a year-plus commitment you can't easily leave.
Monthly or annual, cancel any time, but what you paid is non-refundable
Fit & support
Ease of useHow hard it is to get a non-technical crew actually using it.
Rated 4.8 on Capterra, built mobile-first, very little to teach a crew
SupportWhat owners say about reaching a human when something breaks.
Phone, email and web help on the paid plan; free plan is email only
What it does
Barcode and QR scanningScan a part or a tool with the phone camera instead of typing part numbers.
Phone camera reads your existing barcodes or QR codes, no scanner to buy
Truck and job-site stockTrack what is on each truck and at each job, not just what sits in the shop.
Unlimited locations, and vans and trailers can be free virtual users
Check tools in and outKnow which tech has the drill, and get it back when the job is done.
The core of it: loan a tool to a guy, move it between jobs, audit later
Low stock alertsTells you to reorder before a tech is standing in a basement without the part.
Tracks consumables and quantity counts, but no reorder alert is documented
Works with no signalCrawl spaces and rural jobs: can the crew still scan when the phone drops signal?
Not documented. The vendor's own pages never claim an offline mode

How we research this

Pricing comes from ShareMyToolbox's own pricing pages and is dated at the time we checked it. Features are taken from the vendor's documentation, not from a sales call. We are independent and rank on fit, never on what a tool pays us. See how we review.
