Run the jobs

The best estimating software for trades

You win or lose the job standing in the kitchen, not back at the office three days later. So what matters is giving the customer two or three priced options on the spot and getting a signature before you pack up. Nearly every tool here sends an estimate. Far fewer handle tiered options well, and several charge extra for the part that speeds it up.

I want the tool that covers the most ground. Ranked by how many of this category's jobs the tool does out of the box. Features that cost extra count for less than ones that are included, and we do not reward a long feature list if half of it is an add-on.

What decides it in estimating & quoting

Good, better, best is not standard

One price gives the customer an easy reason to call somebody else. Three tiers give them a decision to make instead. Housecall Pro, ServiceTitan, FieldPulse and ServiceM8 all build multi-option quotes the customer approves and signs online. Service Fusion lets you send up to five options on a single estimate. FieldEdge quotes any job, but the good-better-best presentation comes through Proposal Pro. Jobber handles tiering with optional add-ons and markups on a quote, which gets you there without a true three-column layout. Kickserv keeps it plain: estimates with online approval and signatures. Synchroteam builds a quote and turns the accepted one into a job. Look at what the customer sees on their phone before you commit.

A price book is what makes it fast

Options only help if you can build them in five minutes at the table. A flat-rate price book is what makes that possible: preset jobs at set prices you tap instead of typing. It is often held back. Workiz includes its flat-rate price book on the top tier only. FieldPulse sells Price Book as a separately priced add-on. ServiceTitan's dynamic price book is one of the reasons big shops pay what they pay for it. GorillaDesk does quotes and work orders on Basic and adds dynamic packages on Growth. Service Autopilot auto-prices estimates for route work. If you quote the same twenty jobs all year, shop for this feature and not for the quote template.

What the estimate costs you to send

Estimating rarely gets its own line on the bill. You pay for it inside the platform price, so the task is finding the cheapest tier that quotes the way you need. Jobber's Core plan is $29 a month for one user and sends quotes (as of August 2026). Housecall Pro starts at $59 a month on Basic. ServiceM8 starts around $29 a month and charges by job count rather than headcount, so a heavy quoting week does not move your bill. Method:CRM comes at it from the books, with estimates that get online approval and convert to an invoice, from $35 per user a month. FieldPulse and Service Fusion offer no trial, so you cannot run a live job through their quote flow first.
